Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of FineRiding — how the marketplace works, payments and refunds, the assumption of risk in riding, and how disputes are resolved.

Last updated: September 14, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and FineRiding LLC ("FineRiding", "we", "us"). By accessing or using fineriding.com, our client dashboard, or any related service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use FineRiding.

Please read Section 14 carefully — it requires most disputes to be resolved by binding individual arbitration and waives your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.

2. What FineRiding is

FineRiding is a managed marketplace. We match riders and their families with independent riding instructors, coordinate scheduling, and handle booking and payment. Our team does the human work of finding and vetting a suitable instructor for you.

Instructors are independent contractors, not our employees. FineRiding is not the provider of the lesson itself — the instructor is. We facilitate the match and the logistics, but we do not control, and are not responsible for, how an independent instructor conducts a lesson.

3. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book lessons.
  • A parent or legal guardian must book on behalf of any rider who is a minor and is responsible for that rider and the account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

4. How the service works

You request lessons; our support team sources and proposes a vetted instructor; you review and approve the match; a booking and invoice are created; you pay; and lessons are then scheduled and delivered by the instructor. Your contact details are shared with an instructor only after you approve the match.

5. Prices, fees, and payments

Lesson prices vary by market and package and are shown to you before you pay. A one-time booking fee applies per booking and is also shown up front. Payments are collected manually through PayPal or Stripe. Instructors are paid their share as an independent contractor. Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Instructors, vetting, and disclaimers

We take reasonable steps to vet instructors — which may include background checks, review of credentials, and signed agreements. However, we do not employ instructors and we do not guarantee any particular result, skill outcome, or the acts or omissions of any instructor or rider.

Except as expressly stated, the service and the marketplace are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

7. Assumption of risk and safety

Horseback riding and other equine activities are inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury or death, including from the unpredictable behavior of horses, falls, and equipment. You understand and voluntarily accept these inherent risks for yourself and, where applicable, for the minor rider you are responsible for.

Before lessons begin, you (or a minor rider's parent or guardian) will be asked to review and sign a separate Liability Waiver & Release, which governs the assumption of risk and release of claims for the activities themselves. You agree to follow your instructor's safety instructions and to use appropriate safety equipment, including a properly fitted helmet.

8. Acceptable use

When using FineRiding, you agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Arrange payment for matched lessons outside the platform in order to avoid fees, or otherwise circumvent the marketplace after we introduce you to an instructor.
  • Harass, threaten, or harm instructors, riders, or our staff.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, bookings, or reviews.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its security.

9. Reviews and content you submit

You are responsible for content you submit, such as reviews, and it must be truthful. By submitting content, you grant FineRiding a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it in connection with operating and promoting the service. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

10. Intellectual property

The FineRiding name, logo, website, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the service without our permission.

11. Third-party services

FineRiding relies on third-party services such as payment processors and electronic-signature providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FineRiding and its owners, staff, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the service or any lesson.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to FineRiding in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FineRiding and its owners, staff, and providers from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another party.

14. Dispute resolution, arbitration, and class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.

Informal resolution first

Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before starting arbitration, you agree to contact us at support@fineriding.com and give us at least 30 days to resolve the issue informally.

Binding arbitration

If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and FineRiding agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, under the Federal Arbitration Act. The arbitration will be administered by a recognized arbitration provider under its consumer rules, and may be conducted by phone, video, or written submissions where allowed.

Class-action and jury-trial waiver

You and FineRiding agree that each may bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding. You and FineRiding also waive any right to a jury trial. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court, but the rest of this section still applies.

Exceptions and your right to opt out

Either party may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or security. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing support@fineriding.com with your name and a statement that you opt out — doing so will not affect your use of FineRiding.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, applicable U.S. federal law, and the laws of the U.S. state in which FineRiding is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where arbitration does not apply, and subject to Section 14, disputes will be brought in the courts located in that state.

16. Changes to the service and these Terms

We may change or discontinue parts of the service, and we may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of FineRiding after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

17. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that could harm FineRiding, its instructors, or other riders. You may stop using the service at any time.

18. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and FineRiding regarding the service. We may assign these Terms; you may not assign them without our consent. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
