What information FineRiding collects, how we use it to match riders with instructors, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Introduction

FineRiding LLC ("FineRiding", "we", "us", or "our") operates fineriding.com and its related client dashboard — a managed marketplace that matches riders and their families with independent, vetted riding instructors and coordinates lessons, scheduling, and payments on their behalf.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using FineRiding, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Riders and parents/guardians. When you request lessons or create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, city and ZIP code, the rider's age range and riding level, the discipline and goals you're interested in, whether you'll ride your own horse or a lesson horse, and any notes you choose to add for your instructor. Those notes may include medical, health, or accessibility information you decide to share so lessons can be run safely.

Instructors and applicants. When you apply to teach, we collect your name, contact details, service area and ZIP code, disciplines, certifications and experience, a biography, documents you upload (such as credentials or insurance), and the payout details needed to pay you.

Information created as you use FineRiding

  • Your requests, matches, bookings, lessons, and package history.
  • Messages you exchange with our support team and, once a match is approved, with your instructor.
  • Reviews and feedback you submit.

Payment information

We take payments manually through PayPal or Stripe. Card and bank details are entered directly with those payment processors — we do not collect or store your full card or bank account numbers. We keep a record of the payment method type, a confirmation or reference number, the amount, and the date.

Verification and signed documents

With an instructor's consent, we verify identity and background through a third-party background-check provider. Liability waivers, instructor agreements, and related forms are completed through a third-party electronic-signature provider, which returns the signed document and completion status to us.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect basic technical data — such as your device and browser type and IP address — through our hosting and security providers. We use cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and because our cookies are essential to running the service, we don't show a cookie-consent banner.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide the core service — match you with a suitable instructor, coordinate scheduling, and manage your bookings and packages.
  • Process payments and pay instructors their share.
  • Verify instructors and maintain the safety and quality of the marketplace.
  • Send transactional notifications by email and in the app (for example, match updates, invoices, and lesson confirmations).
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • Improve the service and comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.

With your matched instructor

To protect your privacy, an instructor sees only limited information while we search — typically a first name, general area (ZIP), age range, goals, and any safety notes relevant to running the lesson. Your full contact details are shared with an instructor only after you approve the match.

With service providers who work on our behalf

We use trusted providers to run the platform, and share the minimum information each needs: hosting and database, transactional email, payment processing (PayPal and Stripe), background checks, and electronic signatures, along with content-delivery and security providers. These providers process data under contract and only to provide their service to us.

For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of riders, instructors, the public, or FineRiding.

In a business transfer

If FineRiding is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

5. Health and safety notes

You are never required to share medical or health information. If you choose to include it in your notes to an instructor, we treat it as sensitive and share it only with the matched instructor and the support staff who need it to keep the lesson safe.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for the period required to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

7. How we protect your information

We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls that limit staff access to what their role requires, rate limiting, and abuse protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Access and update. You can review and update most of your information from your account, or by contacting us.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to delete your personal information, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Communications. Most of our messages are transactional and necessary to run your bookings. You can opt out of any non-essential updates.
  • Regional rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK GDPR — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain uses. We honor these rights; contact us to exercise them.

To make any request, email us at support@fineriding.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children's privacy

FineRiding is intended for adults. Riders may be minors, but a parent or guardian creates the booking, provides the information, and is responsible for the account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information without a guardian, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Third-party links and services

Our service links to and relies on third-party services (such as our payment processors). Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of FineRiding after an update means you accept the revised policy.
